Research

Our group takes interest in various problems in the broad area of mechanics and structural engineering. The primary aim of our research is to improve the limitations of accurate structural analysis for structural components and assess the applications of advanced composites for possible structural use. Towards this goal we work with, refined higher order theories for composite plates and shell structures, length scale based ad hoc continuum models within the framework of analytical and numerical solution techniques. We also accommodate different manufacturing parameters, defects and environmental degradation factors for realistic modelling of advanced composites into our analysis. Some of the problems of our present interest are added here:

Bistablity analysis of variable stiffness composites and bar-cable deployable structures
